Edwin Donald "Duke" Snider was born on September 19, 1926, in Los Angeles, California. He was a Hall of Fame center fielder who played the majority of his career with the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers.

Snider was one of the most feared hitters of his era, known for his powerful left-handed swing. Along with Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays, he was part of a legendary trio of center fielders who dominated the 1950s. He was an eight-time All-Star and helped the Dodgers win the 1955 World Series.
